Upstands are thin strips of stone – usually measuring around 100 mm – that are fitted to the wall directly behind your worktops.
In addition to making our beautiful stonework look even more seamless, they serve to create a better seal between your worksurface and the wall, to prevent any spills from dripping down into your cabinets.
With our made-to-measure worktop service and expert fitters, this shouldn’t be an issue. However, in some properties, even when the worktop is perfectly straight, the wall might not be. We highly recommend installing upstands in these cases. Of course, upstands can be fitted for purely aesthetic reasons too.
